Susan Harrison - Artist's Works
Susan Harrison is a mixed-media artist whose work often integrates two-and three-dimensional processes and involves re-working or repurposing used materials. An on-going body of work of hers is her Personal Flotation Device series in which she creates soft sculptural "life preservers" stuffed with the naturally buoyant fiber Kapok. Her work often raises questions about comfort, security and the illusion of stability. She has also spent time collaborating with other artists to create 3-D paper weavings using her own and others printmaking and photographic prints as the warp and weft threads.
More recently, Harrison's work explores the tension between latent and realized work and energy.
