Artist Statement

Although most of my “serious” art is abstract, over the years I’ve made a lot that tells stories – sometimes narratives from real life, sometimes actual words, sometimes made-up scenes that invite viewers to imagine what’s going on. Some of the stories are serious, others are whimsical. Some are ancient, others are up to date to July 1. Some will make you laugh, others will make you cry. Some of the stitches are made by hand, others on the sewing machine. But in every case, there’s something going on!
